A RESOLUTION INITIATING THE PROCEDURE FORVACATING RIGHT-OF-WAY
DEDICATED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A LAUREL DRIVE
RECITALS:
1. The owners of more than two-thirds of the property abutting upon the public right-of-way of a portion
of Laurel Drive have requested its vacation.
2. RCW35.79 provides that a public street may be vacated upon resolution initiated and passed by the
legislative authority of the jurisdiction where the street is situated and that such resolution shall fix a
time when the petition will be heard and determined and which shall not be more than sixty days nor
less than twenty days after the passage of such resolution.
RESOLVED:
1. The petition for the vacation of the following described public right-of-way shall be accepted:
That portion of Laurel Drivecontiguous to a portion of Block3, Riviera Addition to Moses Lake,as per
plat recorded in Volume 7 of Plats,page 5,records of Grant County,Washington,described as
follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of said Block 3;thence South 00°22'54"West,coincident with
the east boundary line of said Block 3 and the west right-of-way boundary line of the city street known
as Laurel Drive, a distance of 101.35 feet to the point of beginning;thence North 89°37'06"East a
distance of 30.00 feet to the centerline of said Laurel Drive;thence South 00°22'54"West,coincident
with the centerline of said Laurel Drive, a distance of 357.29 feet to the north right-of-way boundary
line of the city street known as Lark Avenue;thence North 89°38'09"West,coincident with the north
right-of-way boundary line of said Lark Avenue,a distance of 30.00 feet to the southeast corner of said
Block 3;thence North 00°22'54"West,coincident with the east boundary line of said Block 3 and the
west right-of-way boundary line of said Laurel Drive, a distance of 357.30 feet to the point of
beginning;containing 0.246 acres,more or less.
2. The first reading of a vacation ordinance shall be set for May 9,1995;that a public hearing before the
Planning Commission shall be set for April 11,1995;and that a second reading of a vacation
ordinance shall be set for May 23,1995.
