1019RESOLUTION NO.1019 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO NATIONAL GUARD CONTINGENT DURING ASH REMOVAL CAMPAIGN WHEREAS,on May 18,1980,the volcano,Mount St.Helens,erupted,and WHEREAS,as a result of that eruption the City of Moses Lake received a heavy accumulation of volcanic ash, and WHEREAS,in response to our urgent pleas for assistance several contingents of Washington National Guardsmen were mobilized and sent to assist in our clean-up campaign,and WHEREAS,the effort put forth by the National Guard enabled the City of Moses Lake to make early and positive strides in the clean-up and removal of the ash, ,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake, Washington that sincere appreciation and thank yous be extended to the commanders, officers,and members of the Washington National Guard for their assistance and a job well done. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that our appreciation and commendation of the National Guard be forwarded to Governor Dixie Lee Ray and Major General Robert J.Collins, Washington National Guard,Commanding.
