1022RESOLUTION NO.1022 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO FIVE VOLUNTEERS WHO ASSISTED IN THE ASH CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN WHEREAS,as a result of the volcanic eruption of Mount St.Helens on May 18,1980, several inches of ash fell on Moses Lake, and WHEREAS,when the campaign was launched to control the dust,settle the ash,and clean our streets,the City of Moses Lake needed and received volunteer assistance, and WHEREAS,without volunteer assistance the clean-up effort would have been slowed down and a heavier burden would have been placed on the city work force; ,THEREFORE,RE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake, Washington,that sincere appreciation be extended to: CARL WILSON JIM SOUKUP KEVIN SOUKUP PHILIP ZIEGLER SCOTT ZIEGLER who volunteered,without pay,to continuously change 6,000 feet of sprinkler line along a 2 1/2 mile stretch of Broadway from 8 p.m.Tuesday,May 20, 1980,to 8:30 a.m.Wednesday,May 21,1980. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that these young people be publicly commended for their willingness to serve their community and the spirit in which they voluntarily participated in the clean-up campaign.
