A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE CIVIL AIR PATROL
WHEREAS,on May 18,1980 the volcanic eruption of Mount St.Helens took place,and
WHEREAS,as a result of that eruption,Moses Lake received an ash fallout averaging
3*2 inches,and
WHEREAS,the monumental task of ash removal would have been much slower without
the assistance of many volunteers,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake,
Washington,that recognition and appreciation be extended to the Washington Wing
of the Civil Air Patrol for their participation and assistance in the ash removal
campaign.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Lieutenant Clarence Williams of the Moses Lake Squadron
be congratulated and thanked for his coordination and command of the Civil Air
Patrol contingent.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake,Washington,and APPROVED by
its Mayor this 26th day of August,1980.
