1157u RESOLUTION NO.1157 RESOLUTION AMENDING PERSONNEL POLICY RESOLUTION NO.1025 REGARDING SICK LEAVE WHEREAS,there is a need within the municipal service of the City of Moses Lake for the establishment of unified provisions governing the conditions of employment and regulations pertaining to benefits provided to the employees of the City of Moses Lake, and WHEREAS,certain benefits were provided to bargaining unit employees through negotiations;and WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary to provide the same benefit to exempt employees, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake, Washington,as follows: Section 5 - SICK LEAVE BENEFITS is amended by adding the following: BONUS FOR NOT USING SICK LEAVE Each employee shall receive eight (8)hours of bonus vacation time for each full year he/she works without using any sick leave or disability. The bonus vacation leave shall be added to the employ ee's vacation accumulation on each anniversary date of last used sick leave. (January 1, 1983, will be the initial date for comput ing this anniversary date). Sick leave taken to attend a pre-arranged doctor's or dentist's appointment for periods not to exceed two (2)hours for local appointments,or six (6)hours for out-of-town appointments,shall not be considered sick leave taken within the provisions of the foregoing paragraph.
