1214RESOLUTION 1214
A RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY COUNCIL'S
COUNTY'S PROPOSED SITING OF A HAZARDOUS
WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITY IN GRANT COUNTY
OPPOSITION TO GRANT
AND/OR DANGEROUS
Recitals:
1.Grant County has proposed the development of a hazardous and/or dangerous
waste disposal facility in Grant County which would be located approxi
mately 2500 feet from the Columbia River.
2.The location of the hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal facility
might endanger the waters of the Columbia River.
3.The hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal facility's location will
necessitate the use of major transportation routes through Moses Lake
which would carry hazardous and/or dangerous materials to the facility
which could result in the spilling of hazardous and/or dangerous
materials because of a vehicular accident.
Resolved:
1.The City Council of the City of Moses Lake Washington opposes the cur
rently proposed location of a hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal
facility in Grant County because it could endanger the waters of the
Columbia River and because a hazardous and/or dangerous materials spill
could occur in or near Moses Lake because the hazardous and/or dangerous
materials might be transported on highways passing through Moses Lake.
Adopted by the City Council on March 12,1985.
