1214RESOLUTION 1214 A RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY COUNCIL'S COUNTY'S PROPOSED SITING OF A HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITY IN GRANT COUNTY OPPOSITION TO GRANT AND/OR DANGEROUS Recitals: 1.Grant County has proposed the development of a hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal facility in Grant County which would be located approxi mately 2500 feet from the Columbia River. 2.The location of the hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal facility might endanger the waters of the Columbia River. 3.The hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal facility's location will necessitate the use of major transportation routes through Moses Lake which would carry hazardous and/or dangerous materials to the facility which could result in the spilling of hazardous and/or dangerous materials because of a vehicular accident. Resolved: 1.The City Council of the City of Moses Lake Washington opposes the cur rently proposed location of a hazardous and/or dangerous waste disposal facility in Grant County because it could endanger the waters of the Columbia River and because a hazardous and/or dangerous materials spill could occur in or near Moses Lake because the hazardous and/or dangerous materials might be transported on highways passing through Moses Lake.
