RESOLUTION NO.1224
A RESOLUTION INITIATING THE PROCEDURE FOR VACATING A DEDICATED
CITY STREET KNOWN AS LAUREL DRIVE ADJACENT TO LOTS 16 AND 17
OF THE LAKEVIEW TERRACE UNIT 1 ADDITION PLAT
1.The owners of more than two thirds of the property abutting upon the six
ty foot right-of-way dedicated as Laurel Drive adjacent to Lots 16 and 17
of Lakeview Terrace Unit 1 Addition Plat as recorded in Volume 3 of
Plats,Page 35,Records of Grant County have requested that the street be
vacated.
2.RCW 35.79 provides that a public street may be vacated upon resolution
initiated and passed by the legislative authority of the jurisdiction
where the street is situated and that such resolution shall fix a time
when the petition will be heard and determined which shall not be more
than sixty days nor less than twenty days after the passage of such
resolution.
RESOLVED:
1.The City Council of the City of Moses Lake,Washington,accepts the peti
tion for the vacation of the following described public right-of-way :
The city street right-of-way known as Laurel Drive is located in the
north 1/2 of Section 23,Township 19 North,Range 28 E.W.M.,County of
Grant,State of Washington,and is more fully described as follows:
That portion of Laurel Drive,Lakeview Terrace Unit 1 Addition to Moses
Lake as recorded in Volume 3,Page 35 of Plats,Records of Grant County,
Washington,that lies southwesterly of the right-of-way boundary line for
the city street known as Olive Avenue,described as follows:
Commencing at the most northeasterly corner of Lot 17,Block 1 of said
plat,said point being 30.00 feet southwesterly from the centerline of
the city street known as Olive Avenue and the True Point of Beginning;
thence south 89°37'55"east a distance of 80.00 feet to the northerly
most corner of Lot 16,Block 1 of said plat,said line being parallel
with and 30.00 feet southwesterly from the centerline of said city
street;thence southwesterly on the southeasterly right-of-way boundary
line of the city street known as Laurel Avenue on a 10.00 foot radius
curve concave to the southeast an arc distance of 15.70 feet,the long
chord of said curve being south 45022'36"west a distance of 14.14 feet;
thence south 00°23,07.5"west on the southeasterly right-of-way boundary
line of said city street a distance of 310.01 feet to the southeasterly
most corner of said right-of-way;thence north 89°36'52.5"west on the
southwesterly right-of-way boundary line of said city street a distance
of 60.00 feet to the southwesterly most right-of-way boundary line of
said city street;thence north 00o23'07.5"east on the northwesterly
right-of-way boundary line of said city street a distance of 309.99 feet;
thence northwesterly on the northwesterly right-of-way boundary line of
said city street on 10.00 foot radius curve concave to the southwest an
arc distance of 15.71 feet to the true point of beginning,the long chord
of said curve being north 44037'24H west a distance of 14.14 feet;con
taining 0.442 acres,more or less.
2.A first reading of a vacation ordinance shall be set for July 9,1985;
that a public hearing before the Planning Commission shall be set for
June 27,1985;and that a second reading of a vacation ordinance shall be
set for July 23,1985.
Adopted by the City Council and signed by its Mayor on May 28,1985.
