RESOLUTION NO.541
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO
THE INTER AGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION
AS PROVIDED BY THE MARINE RECREATION LAND ACT AND
THE $40,000,000 OUTDOOR RECREATION BOND ISSUE OF
1968.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake has approved
a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan"for the City of Moses Lake
which identifies an addition to Larson Playfield In the southwestern
part of the city as number one (1)priority;and
WHEREAS,under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act,
and the $40,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1968 State and
Federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid
in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of outdoor
recreational facilities of local public bodies,and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake considers it in
the best public interestto purchase the addition to Larson Playfield In the
southwestern part of the City generally located off SR-171onthe Peninsula.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Moses Lake,Washington:
1.That the City Manager be authorized to make formal application
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for fund
assistance.
2 . That any fund assistance so received be used in the acquisition of
2.4 acres of land in the City of Moses Lake,Washington.
3.That the property acquired with financial aid through the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation will be used
as an outdoorrecreation facility or otherwise as provided and
agreedto by the City Council andthe Interagency Committee
for Outdoor Recreation.
4.That this Resolution become part ofa formal application to
the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake and APPROVED by
its Mayor this 12th day of October ,1971.
