546RESOLUTION NO.546 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSIS TANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION AS PROVIDED BY THE MARINE RECREATION LAND ACT AND THE $40,000,000 OUTDOOR RECREATION BOND ISSUE OF 1968. WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan"for the City of Moses Lake,and the Council considers the development of Larson Playfield in the southwestern part of the city as number (1)priority;and WHEREAS,under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act,and the $40,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1968 State and Federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies,and • WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake considers it in the best public interest to develop Larson Playfield in the southwestern part of the City generally located off SR-171 on the Peninsula. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake,Washington: 1.That the City Manager be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for fund assistance. 2.That any fund assistance so received be used in the development of property identified as the addition to Larson Playfield. 3.That the property devel oped with financial aid through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation will be used as an outdoor recreation facility or otherwise as provided and agreed to by the City Council and the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation. 4.That this Resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation. 5.That the City Manager of the City of Moses Lake is hereby authorized to execute all contract documents necessary to complete this project.
