A RESOLUTION TO PROCLAIM A CITY-WIDE CLEANUP
WEEK FROM MAY 4,1974 THROUGH MAY 10,1974
WHEREAS, the City of Moses Lake proclaims the week of May 4,1974 through May 10,1974 to be
City-Wide Cleanup Week,and
WHEREAS,the.Moses Lake Sanitary Landfill will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,through
out the week at no charge to the public,and
WHEREAS,the Moses Lake Fire Department will conduct controlled burns for vacant lot cleanup,
and
WHEREAS, the Moses Lake Fire Department will provide free permits for open burning, and
WHEREAS, Superior Disposal Company may provide special refuse collection at no extra charge
to the public,and
WHEREAS,Moses Lake Auto Wrecking will provide for the removal of abandoned vehicles and
vehicle hulks at no charge to the public,and
WHEREAS,the Milwaukee Railroad Company will participate by cleaning up their right-of-ways
within the Moses Lake City limits,and
WHEREAS,the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce will promote the project and will seek the
assistance of high school, Boy Scout, Girl Scout, and church group volunteer help, and
WHEREAS,the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce will display the announcement of the Moses Lake
Cleanup Week on the reader board,and
WHEREAS,the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce will enlist the participation of businesses with
reader boards for displaying the announcement of the Moses Lake Cleanup Week, and
WHEREAS,the Columbia Basin Daily Herald,radio station KSEM, and radio station KWIO will
support che project and will provide appropriate announcements,and
WHEREAS,provisions will be made for the removal of appliances,scrap iron and other items
too large for garbage trucks, by calling the City of Moses Lake Sanitation Technician,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Moses Lake hereby recom-
men^s the citizens of Moses Like to join together to effectively and efficiently participate
in cleaning our City during the period of May 4,1974 through May 10, 1974.
