A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PROPOSED
ROUTE FROM THE VERNITA BRIDGE,ACROSS
THE SADDLE MOUNTAINS,TO THE DODSON
HIGHWAY
WHEREAS,there are many people and organizations with great
quantities of produce that must take a circuitous route to
reach Vernita Bridge and the Lower Yakima Valley area;and
WHEREAS,this is costly and time consuming for a large number
of citizens traveling through Central Washington to the Northern
area or vice versa:and
WHEREAS,many students are required to travel an extended period
of time morning and evening to and from the Mattawa area to the
Roral City schools;and
WHEREAS,the proposed route from the Vernita Bridge across the
Saddle Mountains to the Dodson Highway would link important
industrial and recreational areas for improved cross-state
travel;and
WHEREAS,it is the opinion of many organizations and citizens
contacted during the past year that the construction of this
link in the State Highway System is among the most important
projects to be built,and should be given the highest priority
when Highway Construction funds are available;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Moses
Lake,Washington that the Highway Committee make possible the
including of the proposed highway on the priority list for
construction in the near future.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by its Mayor,this
22nd day of July ,1975.
