890IJSi i RESOLUTION NO.890 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON,REQUESTING CONSIDERATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR AND FOR SOLUTIONS IN SOLVING OR ELIMINATING WET AREAS IN COMMERCIAL,INDUSTRIAL AND RESIDENTIAL AREAS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS the United States Bureau of Reclamation has provided irrigation waters to Block 41 beginning in 1953,and WHEREAS the ground water tables have increased,resulting in a wet-land area of several hundred acres adjacent to or within the City of Moses Lake,and WHEREAS the economy of the area is based upon the continuing of irrigation to the farm lands, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake to request financial assistance in obtaining special congressional budget authorization to relieve the lowering of property value within the lands affected,to relieve flooding,to relieve damage to roads and structures and to alleviate misquito breeding grounds.
