A RESOLUTION REGARDING ANIMAL CONTROL FACILITIES IN THE CITY OF
MOSES LAKE
WHEREAS,the current animal control facilities in the City of Moses Lake are
inadequate for the purposes of animal control and therefore,in need of replace
ment; and
WHEREFORE,the Moses Lake -Grant County Humane Society and SPCA is desirous of
jointly participating with the City of Moses Lake in the operation of an animal
control facility in the City of Moses Lake;and
WHEREFORE,the Moses Lake -Grant County Humane Society and SPCA and the City of
Moses Lake jointly believe that it would be desirable to erect adequate physical
facilities in the City of Moses Lake for animal control;and
WHEREFORE,the Moses Lake -Grant County Humane Society and SPCA and the City of
Moses Lake,due to budgetary considerations,do not have the necessary funds to
erect such a physical facility necessary for adequate animal control;and
WHEREFORE,the erection of new physical facilities for the purpose of animal con
trol is for the public good and welfare of the entire greater Moses Lake Commun
ity;and
WHEREFORE,the United States Bureau of Reclamation,Columbia Basin Job Corps Cen
ter,as a part of the greater Moses Lake Community,has agreed to erect a proposed
new animal control facility for the City of Moses Lake with the City of Moses Lake
having to pay only for the materials to be used in the construction of the facility,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Moses Lake cannot erect a new
animal control facility either singly or jointly with the Moses Lake -Grant
County Humane Society without the assistance of the Job Corps,as they have offered,
because of the lack of sufficient funds on the part of the City of Moses Lake and
the Moses Lake -Grant County Humane Society and SPCA.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Moses Lake,Washington,and APPROVED by
its Mayor this 11th day of December,1979.
