A resolution of the City of Moses Lakesetting the minimum
requirements for the gravel surfacing of all streets and/or
roads and.or/alleys within the corporate limits of the City of Moses
Lake, Washington.

VJHERFAS,land has been platted within the corporate
limitsof the City of Moses Ln.ke without the streets and/or
alleys in said plat containg sufficient gravel.
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the Council
of the City of Moses Lake ,as follows;
No plat will be accepted by the Planning Council
and/or the City Council of the City of Moses Lake for tne
platting of real estate within the corporate limits of the
City of Moses Lake and no real estate will be annexedto the
City of Moses ^ake or brought within the corporate limits
in the form of platted landunless all streets and/or alleys
have a gravel surfacingwhich shall conform to the following
minumum requirements;
All streefefe and road -ravel surfaces shall
conform to the following minumum requirements;

'he areas shall be surfaced withf(l)inch
minus crushed rock,screenedand partially crushed gravel
or a combination orboth.Not less than (30) per cent of
gravel particles shall have at least one broken face.
All surfacing material shailjpass aoone inch square,screen
with not less than thirty (30)per cent,nor more than
sixtyfive (6?)per cent,passing a lA"square opening.
The fraction passing a U.S.#10 sieve shall have the physical
properties of group A-l A-2,or A-3 mortar as classified in
Public Roads,Volume 12,No.?.
Surfacing material shall be reasonably uniform
quality throuunhout and shall ^contain no soft or disintegrated
stone or other objectionable meterial but shall contain a
sufficient percentage of suitable earth or other cemehtitious
binder to readily pack.
Surfacing material shall be deposited in two (2)lifts upon
the prepared subgrade to such depths as will form a cpnpacted,
finished roadway of the depth and cross section directed by
the City but in no case less than four(^f)inches in depth.
Spreading shall be done as soon as each lift is dumped.The
Contractor shall be required , as far as practical.,to haul
material over the surfacingas it is placed.Placing shall
begin nearest the point of lo ading and shall progress from
that point.Material shall be continually shaped or processed
during the course of construction.
