A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON,
APPROVING THE WITHDRAWAL AND EXCLUSION OF LAND FROM THE EAST COLUMBIA
BASIN IRRIGATION DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING THEREON THE
UTAH-IDAHO SUGAR COMPANY PLANT.
WHEREAS,Utah-Idaho Sugar Company holds options to buy
various tracts of land all located in Sections 19, 20, 29 and 30,
Township 19 North,Range 29 E.W.M.,Grant County,Washington,and
WHEREAS, the owners of said tracts above referred to have
filed petitions with the Board of Directors of the East Columbia Basin
Irrigation District praying that said land be excluded from the East
Columbia Basin Irrigation District for the purpose that should said
land be excluded from the District it will be sold by the owners of
the various tracts to the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company for the purpose of
said Company constructing thereon a plant, and
WHEREAS, the Moses Lake Planning Commission on March 25,
1952,passed a motion stating that they had no objections to the ex
clusion of said land from the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District
if the same were to be used for the purpose above stated,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MOSES LAKE AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Council does not object to the withdrawal of
said tracts of land above referred to from the East Columbia Basin
Irrigation District for the purposes intended.Therefore,the City
Council makes no objection and favors the withdrawal of said land from
the irrigation district should the same be used for the purpose of
constructing thereon a plant by the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company.
PASSED by the Council of the City of Moses Lake and approved
by its Mayor this 25th day of March,1952.
