WHEREAS,the Northern Pacific Railroad has
petitioned the Interstate Commerce Commission for authority
and permission to construct a rail line into the City of
Moses Lake, and;
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake
feels that the construction of the Northern Pacific Rail Line
into the City of Moses Lake is for the best interests of the
City of Moses Lake, and;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of
Moses Lake shall file a petition for intervention in the
Interstate Commerce hearing upon the Northern Pacific Railroad
Extension; and the City Attorney is hereby authorized and
directed to prepare for and gather evidence for the said
Interstate Commerce hearing;and the City Attorney is further
authorized to participate with the Moses Lake Chamber of
Commerce in this intervention by filing a joint petition for
intervention or otherwise participating in the preparation,
gathering of evidence,and/or presentation at the hearing.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the
