A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MOSES LAKE DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE
WEST BROADWAY BY GRADING,GRAVELING,CONSTRUCTING
AND INSTALLING STORM DRAINAGE,ASPHALT CONCRETE
PAVEMENT,CURBS AND SIDEWALKS AND TO CREATE A
LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO ASSESS A PART OF THE
COST AND EXPENSE OF SAID IMPROVEMENTS AGAINST PROPERTIES
IN SUCH DISTRICT SPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY:AND
NOTIFY ALL PERSONS WHO MAY DESIRE TO OBJECT TO SAID
IMPROVEMENTS TO APPEAR AND PRESENT THEIR OBJECTIONS AT
A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO BE HELD ON MAY 26,
1964.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,
WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Moses Lake,
Washington,to order,pursuant to contract with the Washington State Highway
Commission,Department of Highways,the following improvements within the
City of Moses Lake,Washington:
(1)The improvement of West Broadway from Holly Street
to Lee Street by grading,graveling,constructing and
installing storm drainage,curbs,asphalt concrete pavement
and sidewalks,all of the foregoing being ore continuous unit
of the proposed improvement
All of the foregoing shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications
therefor prepared by the Washington State Highway Commission,Department
of Highways.
Section 2.That the cost and expense of the grading,graveling,storm drainage,
curbs and asphalt concrete pavement shall be borne by the Washington State
Highway Commission,Department of Highways.That sixty per cent of the
cost and expense of constructing and installing the sidewalks shall be borne
by the City of Moses Lake, and that forty per cent of the cost and expense of
constructing and installing the sidewalks shall be borne and assessed against
the property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in the local
improvement district to be established,embracing, as near as may be,all
property specially benefited by such improvement;PROVIDED,HOWEVER,that in
the eventthe actual total cost and expense of constructing and installing the
sidewalks shall exceed the preliminary cost estimate of the Public Works Director
and City Engineer by more than ten per cent,the City shall pay that portion of said

cost and expense which exceeds said ten per cent.That the assessment rates
shall be computed on the basis of the cost and expense of the unit of said im
provement,as above described.
Section 3.That all persons who may desire to object to the improvements herein
mentioned are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a
meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council chambers in the City Hall,
Moses Lake,Washington,at 8:00 P.M.on May 26,1964,which time and place
are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to said proposed improvement,and all
objections thereto,and for determining the method of payment for said improve
ment.
