351RESOLUTION No.351 WHEREAS,the Washington State Library Association is proposing legislation to appropriate a portion of the Public Utility District privilege tax for use of Junior Taxing Districts,and WHEREAS,the said privilege tax has previously been allocated by the State Legislature for the use of County and City governments,and for school adminis tration,and WHEREAS,there have previously been efforts to divert the privilege tax for purposes of State government,and WHEREAS,proposed legislation to change the existing allocation of the privilege tax may very likely result in substantial loss of revenues to local governments by diversion to the State level, NOW,THEREFORE,the Moses Lake City Council does resolve as follows: 1.That it does oppose any legislation appropriating the Public Utility District privilege tax for other uses than those currently provided by Chapter 54.28 of the Revised Code of Washington. 2.That this Resolution be forwarded to the North Central Regional Library Board requesting their adoption of a similar Resolution,and 3.That the North Central Regional Library librarian and staff be requested to refrain from participating toward passage of such legislation.
