441u RESOLUTION No.441 WHEREAS,it is desirable to have a more direct state highway connection between the central Wahluke Slope and the central Royal Slope,and WHEREAS,it is desirable to have a more direct connection between the vast agricultural area north of the Saddle Mountains with the trading and shipping center in the Tri Cities area,and WHEREAS,it is desirable to have a highway connection between the rail and industrial facilities at Royal City and the agricultural area on the Wahluke Slope, and WHEREAS,it is desirable to have that part of Grant County situated south of the Saddle Mountains (being virtually all of the Wahluke Slope),including that part of Grant County lyingin the Mattawa area,connected with a direct state highway route so that there can be better servicing of the Wahluke area by the United States government agencies,state agencies,county agencies,and local govern ment agencies,and WHEREAS,it is desirable that a state highway be constructed from Highway 26 in the vicinity of Dodson Road in a Southerly direction over Saddle Mountain to an intersection with State Highway No.SR 24 in the vicinity of the Southeast corner of Township 15 North,Range 25 EWM., NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Moses Lake, at their regular meeting held in Moses Lake on Tuesday,October 24,1967, recommends that the Washington State Highway Department make a feasibility study of such a highway during 1967 and 1968 so that their proposal can be presented to the 1969 Legislature for approval. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:That copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Governor of the State of Washington,State Legislators of the 13th Legislative Resolution No.441:2 District,Director of Highways,District Engineer of Highway District 2 and the Royal Slope Chamber of Commerce of Royal City,Washington.
