RESOLUTION NO.496
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF A PROSPECTUS
WITH THE URBAN ARTERIAL BOARD,STATE OF WASHINGTON,
FOR FIVE ARTERIAL STREETS.
WHEREAS,Chapter 83,Extraordinary Session Laws of 1967,has estab
lished the Urban Arterial Board of the State of Washington for the
purpose of administering State of Washington Gasoline Tax Funds to
be allotted to cities within the State of Washington for improvement
of city arterial streets,and
WHEREAS,the said Chapter 83 further requires that in the event a city
desires to receive an allotment of funds from the Urban Arterial
Board for the purpose of improving arterial streets within the city
it is necessary to file with the Urban Arterial Board a project pro
spectus of the arterial street improvement which is proposed to be
constructed with funds from the Urban Arterial Trust Fund Account
which is administered by the Urban Arterial Board,and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake has determined
that the following arterial streets should be improved to carry in
creased traffic:
1.Alder Street from Broadway Avenue to
Valley Road.
2.Wheeler Road from SR 17 to the east City
limits.
3 .Third Avenue from Pioneer Way to Broadway
Avenue.
4.Locust Lane from Peninsula Drive to Broadway
Avenue.
5 .Fifth Avenue from Pioneer Way to Division
Street.
and
WHEREAS,said street improvements will probably qualify for an allot
ment of Urban Arterial Trust Account funds up to an amount equal to
90%of the total cost of the proposed improvements with the remaining
cost thereof to be borne by the City of Moses Lake,
NOW,THEREFORE,m IT RESOLVED:That the City Manager of the City of
Moses Lake is authorized and directed to prepare a prospectus for
street improvements and to submit and file same with the Chairman of
Resolution No.496:2
the Urban Arterial Board at Olympia,Washington.Said prospectus
shall request an allotment of Urban Arterial Trust Account Funds for
the improvement of the five arterial streets.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by its Mayor this 23rd day
of September,1969.
